Your comments offer an interesting alternative to the story. I personally believe your version is horribly misplaced though. Your perception matters, but perhaps is overly biased.

You state at the end of your post that you started this movie with an agenda to see a "black" story. So it seems you were actively looking for anything you could cry foul on that did not line up with your expectations. Whether an "anti-black" vibe was there or not. (or intentional or not).

Drop the bias and watch the movie objectively for what it is supposed to be. A feel good movie about how someone has to redefine how they have interpreted their life. I can just as easily view this as a slam against middle aged folks (the "mid-life crisis") but that is not its intent either.

But yes, we as a society are (hopefully) becoming more culturally aware and some of your points are food for thought. Those points do not detract from the movie though IMO.
